Since your own character will likely not have a lot of physical resist himself, hitting a reflecting enemy with your physical or internal trauma damage can send you flying offscreen yourself. Very true, physical builds can run over almost anything.īut you need to be VERY careful with reflection effects on enemies. Add to that the fact enemies rarely have high phys resist and its probably the most potent form of damage in the game and it effects nearly all mobs equally (unlike all the other damage types which tend to struggle with certain mobs, bleed and undead, chaos and cthonics etc) They have high armour but phys damage builds can deal godly amounts of damage as focused builds will have 3000% + damage boosts and unlike other damage there is no need to convert it, it is the base damage type and as such very easy to boost. (I'm going to try to find where I got that from.) Absolutely not sure at all about that, so. I might be wrong on that, but I recall reading somewhere that Internal Trauma would bypass the enemy armor, which would make it so deadly. Some mobs have really high armor values, but : PS: Physical resist is applied after armor, just to toss that in since this thread was originally asking about physical resist. IE: GET IT as long as you don't need those slots for resist, not having capped res is the ONLY reason to ever consider not hitting over 90% armor absorption. Practically everything does some amount of physical damage and it only takes a few hits to mitigate enough damage to outshine other buffs like health (that fit into the two component slots that armor absorption costs you). It will add FAR more survivability then anything else that fits in a measly two component slots assuming your resists are already capped. The more armor you have the more worthwhile armor absorption is (You should have atleast ~1.5K armor in Ult). That damage is reduced by 1000 * 0.98, you take 1020 damage. Say you have 1000 armor and 98% armor absorption. That damage is reduced by 1000 * 0.7, you take 1300 damage. Say you have 1000 armor and 70% armor absorption. Maybe i'm wrong with this but all of my ulti HC chars are going quite well with only 70 Armor Absorption. 900 Points but you have an armor value of 600 at that location: Again, you get 400 damage. 700 Points but you have an armor value of 600 at that location: You get 400 damage.Įxample with 90 Armor Absorption: A monster hits you with 1000 damage, you will absorb max. Originally posted by Nagumo:About armor absorption i'm not quite sure, because in ulti the damage scales so high that it is regardless if you have 70 or 90 armor absorption.Įxample with 70 Armor Absorption: A monster hits you with 1000 damage, you will absorb max. This assumes your non-Physical resistances are already maxed, of course. Pair that with some Physical Resistance and you'll notice your survivability shoot way up. Most builds can attain 76% rather easily (I think with one Devotion?), getting more than that will certainly help. your health will barely drop down at all.Īlso important is Armor Absorb. Whereas, if a mosquito or something that puts a Bleed on you hits, and you have 80%+ Bleed resist. This is, I assume, due to lack of Physical Resistance. as soon as something that deals Trauma damage hits you, your health is going to start dipping really quickly. Later on, you're going to notice that, even when you upgrade a bunch of slots, and your armor rating is looking pretty good. The reason it's mitigated twice is because, as offense, Physical bonuses are extremely easy to come by, and typically really abundant later on compared to other types of damage. Physical damage is mitigated in two ways: armor, and physical resistance (which also covers Internal Trauma).
